This DVD is very good for someone who is a 10 Handicap and above. Basically his new book compliments a lot of what makes up this video. He uses a lot of good examples when he talks about 'method'.
The driver segment is the best because he focuses a lot on swing plane which is a must for good golf shots. He talks about the flop, pitch, chip, and bump-and-run shots for various shots which everyone faces. Hank Haney does an excellent job of explaining some hard-core fundamentals that must be understood and executed if one is to improve their overall game and have a repeatable swing.
Even his short game segment is good in this video. If you order this video--you are NOT wasting money. Again, he does an excellent job with showing you what he is trying to convey.
However, if you want more "in-depth" complex information on the swing, Hanks new book is a "must-read": I believe it is called the "Essentials of the Swing". Again, this video is well done and very well executed for the player who wants to hit better shots not only down the fairway, but also around the greens.
I have not received this DVD yet. I can not find a link in the tracking of purchases. If you can help at amazon to find where this DVD is in route, thanks.Derk Harrington
I bought this for my husband and he absolutely loved it. He want more from Hank Haney.
The premise of this DVD is that the vast majority of golf shots are made with a driver, wedge, or putter. So those are the only clubs covered. Some good ideas here but This DVD won't totally turn your whole golf game around, which is what I need.
They fully explain the reason for errant shots from each club; something some other coaches are seem reluctant to do for fear of over-complicating their presentation. He claims, and I do not doubt him , that 75% of the shots played by professional golfers are with these clubs. I was most impressed by this DVD.The instruction that Hank Haney provides in this DVD is in three parts; the Driver, the Wedge and the Putter. I was most impressed with this coaches ability to avoid oversimplifying the lesson, but at the same time he does not make each lesson impossibly detailed.I tried some ideas out on the driving range the day after I saw the DVD and found it immediately helpful.I particularly liked the focus on the back of the left hand leading the clubface to an impact that is correctly aligned with the target, for not only the driver, but the wedge and putter as well.I have watched many instructional dvd's and rate this amongst the best.I also like Simon Holmes Digital Golf School. The figure is possibly higher for amateurs. With better use of these clubs Mr Haney sees the prospect of a significant improvement in the scores of amateur players. He explanations are first rate. See my review. By the way, if you want to watch great golf, all the Ryder Cup DVD's are excellent as are the 1986 Masters, 1997 Masters and 2006 British Open.
